There are so many paneer recipe ideas you can find when the South Asian cuisine, especially Indian one, is what you are exploring. Paneer itself is a type of fresh cheese you can make at home easily, which you may also often refer to as cottage cheese. Made with milk, paneer is thus loaded with calcium.
Also known as chenna, paneer can be served grilled, used in curries, or used to make desserts. The paneer recipe idea we have today is a yummy dessert with only organic fruits and no white sugar added. Rather, it uses stevia, also known as a natural sugar substitute that is derived from a plant.
Hot Paneer Sandesh Pudding Recipe
Ingredients
- Paneer—250 grams
- Full fat cream—2 tbsp.
- Stevia—adjust to your taste
For the fruit stew:
- Strawberries—8 to 10, chopped
- Green apple—10, sliced thinly and seeds removed
- Juice of orange—1 cup
- Cloves—3-4
- Cardamom—3-4
- Cinnamon sticks—2
- Whole black pepper—3-4
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 220 degrees C.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the orange juice to it. Add the cardamom, black pepper, cloves, and cinnamon sticks (they’ll be fished out later). Add apple slices once the juice turns hot. Stew it with cover for 5 to 7 minutes. After a while, uncover it and let simmer until half the orange juice evaporates. Turn off the heat and fish out all the spices.
- Add strawberries into the liquid and reserve some for garnishing. It’s the fruit stew.
- Mash the paneer with a fork well. Add whipped cream and blend in the stevia. Mix well.
- Flatten out the mix on a foil paper or plastic sheet to the same size of baking size you’ll be using.
- Pour in the stew fruit in your baking dish and dress up with remaining strawberries. Place the baking dish in the oven, bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Serve while still hot.
